Expert usability critique
Description
An assessment of the usability of an existing web/Intranet site or application, by a usability specialist
Appropriate use
Not as effective as the direct contact that user observations and usability testing can give, a usability critique is faster & cheaper, and will still highlight many fundamental issues with a site or application.
Conducted on an existing site/application, where there is some redevelopment scheduled, or to see if any redevelopment is required, or perhaps by way of an audit as a response to user complaints.
Output
Report outlining usability flaws in the site; things people find difficult to find or understand, problems with clutter, difficult processes, etc.
