Usability testing

Description

Structured tests, conducted on both the prototype and the live system, to test how real users are able to execute tasks (find things, complete processes, etc.) as per the objectives of the site or application.

Appropriate use

A core activity in user-centred design, every site or application needs thoroughly testing at every stage of development.

Usability objectives should be established at the beginning of the project

Output

Reporting on results, interpretation and recommendations for corrective action.
